2026 Season Preview presented by JOZBET
Welcome back to the third season of the Ultimate Fantasy Fighting Championship. In what has felt like a fairly long layoff, especially for those of you like myself who were knocked out of contention in June last year. We look forward to another exciting year of following random fight night prelims like you’ve bet your grandmas inheritance on them.
After what was and always will be a gruelling task of waiting half an hour to just get the fighter you wanted snatched right before your eyes. We now are officially ready to go for the 2026 season. We once again showed our true colours drafting 90% males until the last three rounds.
Once again I’d like to preface, JOZBET is not actually taking wagers this year we are a not for profit organisation doing these articles for the love of the game. In saying that more than happy to be put in my place if I get something majorly wrong. Just to remind you all I had last years champion Bisping Right Eye, Shara Right Eye as the second favourite to win in this article last year.
Before we get into the breakdown it’s important to know:
SAH = Safe as houses (picks that involve little to no risk)
CBA = Could Be Anything
MID = Nothing wrong with the pick but not getting anyone off their chair
EC = Early Crow (As we know from the award, jumping early at someone)
WWTT = What were they thinking?
Don Bones Jones $5.5
This man just seems to have a bit of an eye for fantasy UFC. Always around the mark and a previous title holder. Opened with the toughest decision of them all, to drop his ride or die from day one for the pound for pound number 1. Some really solid names down the line to top up his list, no doubt will be a contender this year.
SAH: Islam Makhachev
CBA: Manel Kape, Lerone Murphy, Cyril Gane, Ateba Gautier, Manuel Torres, Jacqueline Cavalcanti
MID: Wang Cong, David Martinez (Love the pull though from Eternal last year), Oumar Sy
EC: Shauna Bannon
Proper 12 Inches $8.5
A very solid team name and a good first crack at his draft. Banking on some old heads and some ex title holders to regain some form. A no brainer first round pick, will just need to wait and see what happens with Ilia, could he finish the year with a big win or two?
SAH: Ilia Topuria
CBA: Merab Dvalishvili, Alexandre Pantoja, Sean Brady
Mid: Khalil Roundtree, Yair Rodriguez, Rose Namajunas, Ailin Perez, Gillian Robertson
WWTT: Bo Nickal
Dagestani Smesh Brothers $9
Last years early season favourite has gone and drafted a few big hitters and a few fairly washed-up operators. Will be an intriguing season to see how this team fairs especially if his main man Pereira decides to go to heavyweight against Aspinall and his seeing-eye-dog. Props for drafting Pharjack after tearing shreds off everyone to set the draft order.
CBA: Alex Pereira, Carlos Prates, Mauricio Ruffy
MID: Mackenzie Dern, Jack Jenkins, Tallison Teixera, Michael Page, Alexa Grasso, Amir Albazi
EC: Deiveson Figueiredo, Julianna Pena
Aussie Bottom Team $6
With a couple of tough moments in his first two drafts, ABT is definitely starting to find some form with his drafting. Locking in two rock solid title holders and drafting enough talent around them to hopefully propel his way up into contention. A Gaethje win tomorrow and we might have a new favourite.
SAH: Khamzat Chimaev, Valentina Shevchenko
CBA: Kyoji Horiguchi, Justin Gaethje, Brandon Royval, Raul Rosas Jr, Amanda Nunes, Alex Volkanovski
MID: Jack Della Maddalena, Ketlen Viera, Song Yadong, Mairon Santos
EC: Curtis Blaydes
WWTT: Jamahal Hill
The Pussy Pounders $10
A very tough start to management of his fantasy side as sleeping past a 12pm start time on draft day is not a good look. At least it wasn’t because he was out bendering or there’d be some serious concern. To make matters worse there was a clear big 4 in the draft this year. Let’s see if our debutant can turn his season around.
CBA: Alex Volkanovski, Waldo Cortes Acosta, Azamat Murzakanov, Denise Gomes
Mid: Dricus Du Plessis, Sean O’Malley, Benoit Saint Denis, Brandon Royval, Karine Silva
WWTT: Belal Muhammad, Raquel Pennington
The Bustanutters $8
Back to back last places and just crying for something to go his way at the moment, every time I come back to this article I look at his roster and think, not to bad. Proves me wrong every year. With punishments increasing this year and no backing out let’s see if The Bustanutters can have a good season.
CBA: Joshua Van, Diego Lopes, Nassourdine Imavov, Amanda Nunes, Ian Garry, Charles Oliviera, Manon Fiorot, Rinya Nakamura
MID: Bogdan Guskov, Tabatha Ricci
The Last Bender $9
Will another fall to trap of the UFC wonderkid Shavkat Rhakmanov? He has been a staple in the first round and things just haven’t clicked so far. Will have to now overcome the pound for pound best in the business. These are the risks the Last Bender needs to take to get that belt.
CBA: Shavkat Rakhmanov, Magomed Ankalaev, Caio Borralho, Asu Almabayev
MID: Sergei Pavlovich, Tatiana Suarez, Cory Sandhagen, Gabriella Fernandes, Yana Santos
EC: Steve Garcia
My Balls Was Hot $6.5
Took everyone by surprise last year and was in with every chance right until the very end. Has gone back to the well and drafted impressively grabbing Weili at a tidy 1.08. Will be striving for the belt this year and has picked high upside plays to give him the best look possible.
SAH: Zhang Weili
CBA: Petr Yan, Paddy Pimblett, Norma Dumont, Tatsuro Taira, Donte Johnson, Kevin Vallejos, Mario Pinto
MID: Maycee Barber, Jonathan Micallef
WWTT: Modestas Bukauskas
Bisping Right Eye, Shara Right Eye $7
Last years champion who had a season that we may never see again. We do need to work on this name length as it’s a punish to type in over and over for these articles. Looked to have drafted nicely again considering the later pick. Can we have our first back to back and start to turn BRESRE into a dynasty?
CBA: Umar Nurmagomedov, Carlos Ulberg, Natalia Silva, Yousef Zalal, Fatima Kline, Fares Ziam, Jacobe Smith
MID: Brandon Moreno, Irene Aldana
WWTT: Israel Adesanya, Jailton Almeida
Just Bleed $7
Hasn’t fully contended in the business end of the season but always drafts a solid base of a team. Will be hoping this is his year as has gone a solid mix of title contenders and rankings climbers. Will the Commish finally get rewarded for the blood, sweat and tears he pours into this competition? Max Holloway could answer this question.
CBA: Max Holloway, Jiri Prochazka, Jean Silva, Peyton Talbott, Mansur Abdul-Malik, Gabriel Bonfim, Carli Judice
MID: Alden Coria, Alexia Thainara, Bia Mesquita
Dropkick Murphys $10
A safe space to come clean here and admit that I wasn’t fully across the news that Kayla Harrison was going in for serious neck surgery. Hence following that pick up with another pick that is about to go see Fred Hollows. Could be a long year, drafting off a phone in the car while trying to hold a half decent conversation with the Mrs isn’t a great time either.
CBA: Anthony Hernandez, Quillian Sallkilld, Joel Alvarez, Vinicius Oliviera, Ramazan Temirov, Navajo Sterling
MID: Tom Aspinall, Iasmin Lucindo, Arnold Allen, Eduardo Moura
WWTT: Kayla Harrison
You Had Me at Guillotine $9.5
One of the most rogue insults a man can throw at another landed our final debutant with pick 12. Definitely drafted well on the turn and multiple times took the fighter that I had in mind when picking after. A couple of really shaky picks at times has landed him down the lower end of the odds.
CBA: Arman Tsarukyan, Michael Morales, Movsar Evloev, Erin Blanchfield, Raul Rosas Jr
MID: Renier De Ridder, Virna Jandiroba, Tim Elliot, Macy Chiasson
EC: Jimmy Crute
WWTT: Jon Jones
