What a month April was for the game we adore. Our golden boy is back on this throne and JOZBET owes a public apology to one Aussie Bottom Team who was the punching bag of my articles in the first month or two. Since, he has had one of the great glow ups and with a Max Hollaway win could have this season all but sewn up.
Fighter inactivity starting to wear on several managers at this stage of the year. Leading up to the mid-season draft, some crucial bookings await to decide whether you put your roster out for hard rubbish. There is always opportunity to turn things around in this league.
All things going to plan in May, Jack Della Maddalena will be holding a belt, the second by an Australian citizen. Possibly the biggest international sporting feat by our country since I’ve been alive. Only got to land the right combination on one of the biggest losers in the sport. Get behind him this month.
May Odds:
Aussie Bottom Team $3.5
My Balls Was Hot $5
Bisping Right Eye, Shara Right Eye $6
Dana White Supremacists $6
The Last Bender $8
The Bustanutters $11
Just Bleed $11
Don Bones Jones $12
Dagestani Smesh Bros $14
Dropkick Murphys $14
Dangerous Rangerous $18
The Last Bender will be the one to watch in May, his roster has the most bookings and two title fights, make or break month for last year's runners up. He opens the month with a double in the main and co-main on an interesting enough card.
$1.19 Sandhagen (TLB) V Figueiredo $4.80
Second shortest favourite on the card, you would hope Sandhagen makes light work of Figueiredo. Both guys in the twilight of their careers respectively. Expecting a dominant decision and some extra points for The Last Bender.
$3.80 De Ridder V Nickal (TLB) $1.28
Again a nice priced favourite for The Last Bender, once again expecting a good showing of wrestling and potential for it to go the long again. De Ridder has form in gassing out so possibly a late finish to Nickal on the cards.
$3.10 Rodriguez V Robinson (TBN) $1.38
Gillian Robertson round 2 was an old JOZBET special back in the day and it could be on again in this fight. Out of Robertsons 8 finishes 6 of them have been in the second, the bet that could pay the nation.
$2.15 Santos V Tate (DWS) $1.70
Random pick by Dana White Supremacist’s but what do I know as these managers I keep questioning continue to get it done and he’s found himself a favourite here in Tate, a win here to steady the ship and continue a charge towards the top.
You’ll be on a boat to Christmas Island if you don’t watch this one, our chance to have two champions in two of the most legit divisions in the sport. Stacked card with heaps of UFFC action.
$1.42 Muhammed (TLB) V Della Maddalena (DBJ) $2.90
The Last Bender will have to play the villain to keep his season alive while Don Bones Jones could catapult himself into contention with a win. Can JDM keep it on the feet long enough to get the upper hand in this one? Here at JOZBET we sure hope so.
$2.20 Shevchenko (DR) V Fiorot (TLB) $1.67
Legacy fight for Shevchenko which could set up a champ-champ fight with Weili. Fiorot deserved her chance and gets it here. Will some of these older champions ever pack it in?
$2.50 Grasso (DWS) V Silva (JB) $1.55
Natalia Silva looks like a serious prospect, this is a fight to see just how good she is. Anything could happen in a unpredictable division. Is a title fight next for Silva with a win?
$2.90 Andrade (MBWH) V Jasudavicius $1.42
Jasudavicius is one that slipped through the cracks in the draft and is getting ranked fights now, should be a decent scrap. Mid-Season draft opportunity?
$1.38 Sterling (JB) V Erslan $3.10
Just Bleed punching for the double on this card. Quietly ticking along but are they leaving their run too late? A good chance here for a KO.
$2.50 Saint Denis (DWS) V Alvarez
Dana White Supremacists going for the underdog double at 315, Alvarez another undrafted opportunity for managers. A win here gets the rank moving in the right direction. DWS will be hoping for a Saint Denis resurgence.
Just one fight in the main card to round out the month of May. Extra points available for both managers here.
(MBWH) Burns V Morales (JB)
Expecting Morales to start favourite here as Burns is winding down. A great opportunity for Morales to climb into the top 10. 3 fight skid currently for Burns, two being against the current title fighters though.
Here’s hoping magic happens in May, I will be in attendance in Melbourne for UFC 316, see you all at the Great Northern.
Signing off, Deputy Commissioner, Joel Murphy.
Now... before you all jet off. A quick standings update from the Commissioner.
There has been a tonne of movement since our last update, with Aussie Bottom Team surging into second place. With two titles on the line and three main events in May, expect to see a heap more movement as we move towards a double PPV June.
The mid-season draft night has been brought forward to accommodate our friends attending Euro-Summer and will be held on Thursday 12 June. This is after UFC 316 and before UFC 317, a great opportunity for the battling sides to galvanise and the rich to get richer.
Don't forget you have your new signings options available. It may be worth considering pulling the trigger on a new signing who fights in the next month to test them out. If they fail, you can dump them and go again at the mid-season draft. Something to consider..
