With UFC 317 upon us, we have reached the official halfway point of the season. UFFC Season 2025 has so far seen 96 fighters make the walk, with 57 victories, 23 finishes and 23 bonuses. There was a total of 108 fights in Season 2024 which shows us our rule changes for this year have made the league far more active!
The title picture is starting to take shape, with the next 3 UFC PPVs lined up and 48 fighters scheduled to compete between now and Noche UFC in September. Dagestani Smesh Bros has used June to make his long awaited move up the standings. Don Bones Jones has a big day ahead at UFC 317 with a guaranteed champion. What matters most is whether captain Ilia Topuria can claim the lightweight strap and show the move to retain Topuria over Makhachev was a good one.Â
Moving in the opposite direction, The Deputy Commissioner's Drop Kick Murphys have set up a couch and starting to make himself at home in last place, while Dana White Supremacists and Dangerous Rangerous look all but done for the year. Dana White Supremacists lost a champion through the retirement of Jon Jones however can go to Free Agency to replace him (rules further down this post).
Mid-season draft recap
The mid-season draft was held after UFC 316 on Tuesday 10 June. There were 19 selections made across the draft and in the few weeks since, there has already been 3 big wins, 2 bonuses and a couple disappointing losses. See a recap of the draft below:
A reminder of rules at your disposal. These are available until the cut-off date of September 30.
Free Agency
Each team can access free agency twice throughout the year. It can only be used if your fighter is long term injured, suspended due to drugs, retires or faces a long layoff.
Free agency must be approved by the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner collectively, if the claim is made by the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner, it must be a majority vote by the league.
Your scores to date stand via departing fighter.
New Signings
Each team can sign one new fighter per year from a waiver wire, held reverse ladder order.
The fighter must be a new signing to the UFC.
The team must delist a fighter in that fighter's division to replace them.
In practice, a team would message in the UFFC chat stating they would like to nominate to sign X fighter who has recently been signed by the UFC. The Commissioner will confirm their signing before inviting other teams to nominate to sign this fighter. We will commence at the top of the ladder, with each team nominating their interest. With each nomination on the ladder as we move down, the teams above are removed from the opportunity. Ultimately, the last team on the ladder has the final say.
If you require any clarification on the above rules, reach out to the Commissioner directly.
Don't forget to protect ya neck.
The Commissioner.
