As March comes to a close, we bid farewell to a quieter than usual month in the world of UFFC. So far, only 9 fighters have made the walk, with another 3 adding to that tally at UFC Mexico City this weekend.
The action is back in April with 18 fighters scheduled including 9 at the absolutely stacked UFC 314 card in Miami headlined by Alexander Volkanovski (Aussie Bottom Team) against Diego Lopes (The Bustanutters). Keep your eyes peeled for another JOZBET update coming soon.
There has been some shuffling of positions in the standings after UFC 313 and UFC London. Most notably, The Bustanutters are finally making their move as they rise from 9th into 6th on the standings. He can thank his LHW Carlos Ulberg who won a tight decision and is now ranked 3rd in the LHW division. The Last Bender retains 4th spot although has dropped in points due to losing the title at UFC 313. On the other hand, the Dana White Supremacists surprise many as they firmly cement themselves in the top 3, only 2 points behind My Balls Was Hot and ladder leaders Bisping Right Eye, Shara Right Eye. Not bad for a team paying $14 at the start of the month.
There's rumors swirling that Don Bones Jones will remain his side the Carlton Football Club as they continue to chase that elusive first win of the year after last year's success. Will it come via Joe Pyfer this weekend? Let's hope Michael Voss isn't in his corner!
Let's take a look at the overall standings as of March 29.
As we close the first quarter of Season 2025, check out where your individual fighters are ranked at this link.
I'll remind you all of a couple rules that are at your disposal:
Free Agency
Each team can access free agency twice throughout the year. It can only be used if your fighter is long term injured, suspended due to drugs, retires or faces a long layoff.
Free agency must be approved by the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner collectively, if the claim is made by the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner, it must be a majority vote by the league.
Your scores to date stand via departing fighter.
Free agency is only available until September 30.
New Signings
Each team can sign one new fighter per year from a waiver wire, held reverse ladder order.
The fighter must be a new signing to the UFC.
The team must delist a fighter in that fighter's division to replace them.
In practice, a team would message in the UFFC chat stating they would like to nominate to sign X fighter who has recently been signed by the UFC. The Commissioner will confirm their signing before inviting other teams to nominate to sign this fighter. We will commence at the top of the ladder, with each team nominating their interest. With each nomination on the ladder as we move down, the teams above are removed from the opportunity. Ultimately, the last team on the ladder has the final say.
And if you've read this far, here's a little leg up...
Recently signed fighters available under the 'New Signings' clause:
Kyoji Horiguchi - former UFC title challenger, RIZIN champion - near guaranteed title shot if he wins his first fight. Flyweight watch out!
Ateba Gautier - The Silent Assassin is 6-1 and won his Contender Series fight by R2 KO. He fights this weekend (TOMORROW!) against the 11-4 Jose Medina. Anyone chasing a scary Middleweight?
David Martinez - The Black Spartan is 11-1 and coming off a decision win on the Contender Series. He also fights this weekend against an 18-5 opponent. The Black Spartan has finished 9 of his wins by KO/TKO. Bantamweight.
Kevin Vallejos - El Chino is 15-1 including back-to-back first round KO's. He is fresh off a win a fortnight ago although is keen to be active this year. A terrifying featherweight.
If you require any clarification on the above rules, reach out to the Commissioner directly.
Don't forget to protect ya neck.
The Commissioner.
